Sue Dymoke

Poet
Sue Dymoke worked as an English teacher in 11 - 18 schools for fifteen years. She is now a part time lecturer in education at the University of Nottingham where she is completing research on poetry teaching in secondary schools. Sue regularly leads poetry INSET sessions with English teachers on practical teaching strategies and planning the poetry curriculum form KS2 to Post 16 level. Sue is an experienced workshop leader with both adults and students across the 11 - 18 age range. She is a member of the Poetry Society's `poetryclass' team.

Publications
Poems and reviews have been published widely in magazines and journals. Five pamphlet collections of poetry: (1987) `A Sort of Clingfilm', Wide Skirt Press; (1989) `Colour Girl', Smith/Doorstop; (1990) `Sometime Other than Now'. Slow Dancer; (1993) `Hunting Ground'. Slow Dancer; (1997) `Lifting the Language'. Shoestring Press.

Educational publications on poetry teaching include: `Ways into Teaching the Ghazal' in Goody, Joan ed. (2000) `Multicultural Literature in the Classroom', Sheffield, NATE and articles in `Secondary English Magazine'.

Performance Work
East Midlands Arts 'New Voices' tour (1991), plus various readings in Huddersfield, Liverpool, London, Newcastle, Nottingham and other parts of the country as well as Karlsruhe, Germany.
