East Midlands
Arts Directory of Writers and Storytellers has been compiled in
order to provide brief biographical details for many of the region's
writers and storytellers. It is also a useful resource for individuals
and organisations wishing to employ artists for workshops, residencies
and commissions. The Directory is a clear indication that the
East Midlands is a region rich in working writers and storytellers.
The majority
of of those featured in the Directory have been published nationally
or have a achieved a national reputation for their work. The principle
is, however, flexible in application as there are writers and
storytellers living and working in the region who are not represented
either for personal or professional reasons. New talent is emerging
all the time. In addition, the Directory features a number of
writers who have not been published nationally but who have particular
strengths and areas of expertise to offer. The information presented
has been submitted by the artists themselves. The inclusion of
any writer or storyteller in the list is not meant to imply a
seal of approval and neither does omission imply the opposite.
Among those listed are novelists, short story writers, poets,
dramatists, storytellers, children's authors and many more.
The Directory
is revised periodically and further information is available from
East Midlands Arts, Mountfields House, Epinal Way, Loughborough,
Leicestershire LE11 0QE.
