Animated Poetry in Flash

This course is for people who want to learn how to use Macromedia Flash to create animated poetry, in which words move around, change colour and size, and so on. It will also be of value to those who want to animate other forms of text. Students need to have Flash 4 or 5. Narrative Voice Workshop
Sharon Rundle
In this workshop you will begin to discover your own 'voice' in fiction writing. You will become familiar with creating voices for your characters using dialogue, internal monologue and stream of consciousness techniques. There will be an opportunity to try out or extend these techniques in your own writing. Constructive peer feedback will be provided with the intention of enhancing your writing techniques. Web Design Workshop Randy Adams
Web Design Workshop will guide students step by step through the maze of Hypertext Markup Language, webpage design, and going online. Suitable for absolute beginners, this course will stress creativity and experimentation. Extended exercises will be offered for those students who feel comfortable tinkering with the basic material. Writing Children's Fiction Karen King
We will explore the various markets for children’s books and guidance will be given on how to aim at a specific market, get an agent and find a publisher. Special attention will be given to the skills needed, such as vocabulary, dialogue, creating characters children can identify with and writing for different age groups. Writing Crime & Mystery Fiction

Susan Richardson
This course will introduce you to a range of basic crime fiction techniques, including writing powerful beginnings, creating plot, location and building suspense. You will be encouraged to read and analyse extracts from the work of published crime writers, such as Sara Paretsky and Janet Evanovich and will be given a range of exercises to stimulate and develop your own ideas for a crime or mystery story plot.
