Rowland offers thrice yearly programmes of literature events.
These readings come under the banner of `WordWorks'. As well as
offering entertaining literary evenings the invited speakers often
give valuable advice about publishing as a whole. There is a chance
for outstanding self-published writers to take their place in
the programme. They also have a range of special evenings in which
local or amateur writers might participate. Aside from these showcase
events they offer a range of reading and writing groups across
the county, covering genres from the postcolonial to the thriller.
For poets there is the opportunity to read work to audiences as
part of the `Poetry Express' initiative; which takes poetry to
