Short biography
Cathy Grindrod was appointed Nottingham's Literature Development Officer in September 2000. Prior to that, she was co-ordinating Newark and Sherwood's Millennium Poetry Project. She has had a variety of jobs since studying for an English/Education degree, alongside which she has been active for some years in literature support, with a particular interest in poetry. A published poet herself, she was, until recently, editor of "Poetry Nottingham International".

Areas of Activity

Setting up a network of literature providers across the City and promoting a City-wide programme of literature events.
Establishing a bi-monthly City/County news sheet which informs people about literature activity across Nottinghamshire.
Producing a series of specific literature information packs for readers and writers, and offering advice to individuals.
Support for black writers through the Black Ink project, and provision and promotion of Black Literature events.
Live author and local performance events at various city venues and in conjunction with various groups and establishments.
