Big spenders
Not that I felt all that good about the Mariott Warsaw where the investors stay. When I went to its American Express office I found an Anywhere Glitz lobby. But outside, Warsaw has character, even if it is not unified in any classic way. City character isn't so centered anymore. Krakow looks the way middle European cities used to look, with wonderful churches, castles, mansions, as well as the fine public spaces they create around them. Warsaw has a mix of old and new, jarring and disharmonious as it may be, with an energy that looks for new forms.
