Retail life
The clerk in the rental car agency where I stopped for directions to the New Urbanist development said that he lived in an apartment there, and that he had chosen Kentlands because he liked being able to walk to stores and recreation. The other clerk said that all she knew about Kentlands was how to get to the mall there that had a KMart, a theater, a Target, and "all those good things." She said that she couldn't distinguish the different kinds of housing in Kentlands, and when she asked the first clerk, "Is it expensive?" he replied, "Yeah, sure."
