The economy of Lund

I was visiting not at the Lund philosophy department but at the technical university's architecture school, which lay beyond the hospital on a new campus built in the '60s with severe but dramatic buildings. Beyond them lay a wide spread of arbitrary-shaped buildings housing a university-industry research incubator for new companies. When those companies mature some of them set up headquarters nearby. The town's economy seems to be based on those industries, the university, and the regional hospital. The hundred thousand or so citizens have an air of prosperity and people seem willing to spend money, but there are also some people less well off, though, this being Sweden, there is no obvious grinding poverty.
