Wright on what is between the lines

Wright sketched several pictures of Broadacre City, and with his students built a large model showing what a typical area might be like. Some views can be found on the web through Google's image search.
Much as Herbert Gans was to defend suburban life in The Levittowners (1967) Wright seems to be saying that you can't tell a book by its cover. Of his own proposal he found it necessary to caution that "there is more between the lines than appears in the lines" Grabow 1977, 121
