Other kinds of hypertext

Although the term "hypertext" is commonly taken to denote non-linear networks of linked text chunks, it includes other kinds of text that cannot be conveniently reproduced on a printed page, such as text that expands to give more detail (so called "stretchtext"). In this comparison, however, I am emphasizing the link-and-node style of hypertext.
