"Place" in a larger sense

Looking for our place in life

There is another, larger use of the term place. A building, or a single place, or a striking natural locale without social grammar may help us "find our place," within some overall set of social roles, or culture, or world view.

Places, in the sense in which I am using the word, may help us "find our place" in that larger sense, or then again they may not, especially now that places no longer relate to one another in neat concentric or hierarchical ways.
