Melinda Corazon Foley
Melinda Corazon Foley (person, playwright, poet), who has been writing since she could pick up a pen, is currently living in San Francisco and working on a strategy to live off the word.

Born in Cebu, Philippines, in the year of the Dragon, and raised in Virginia, she is forever grateful to the combination of family, friends, and blessings from above which consistently fill her life with new and brilliant opportunities. Melinda recently featured at La Pena Cultural Center's "Cafe Poetry," performed as part of "10 Poets & a Mic," a collective of East Bay spoken word expressionists, and also performed in "Pieces of the Quilt," a collection of short plays on the AIDS epidemic, with members of Campo Santo in San Francisco. She is thankful for her work with San Francisco's Asian-American Theater Company, including the recent production of "API 101: Immigration to Identity" at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, as well as many readings and play workshops.

Prior to San Francisco, Melinda was blown away by her experiences with "Peeling the Banana," a performance group based out of the Asian-American Writers Workshop in NYC. With "Peeling," she was fortunate enough to perform in NYC as well as in "Treasure in the House: The 6th Annual Asian Pacific American Performance & Visual Art Series" at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, California.
