Jeremy Duffield

"Putting writing on the web is a new concept for me, as is poetry incorporating the technical jargon of industry. The opportunity to fuse both these elements in Web Warp & Weft captured my imagination and I was fired with enthusiasm.

"Leaving the textile industry, after a career which began in 1963, it seemed natural to want to record memories, recollections, scenes and incidents experienced during those years. I wanted to capture moments from an industry which is now in decline, but one that is continuing to fight for survival and adapt to meet external pressures and changes.

"The poems included here are, I hope, only the first of many I will be able to write in this direction."
