Anyone who has written a stage play is eligible to be a member of the Theatre Writers Union. The play need not have been produced.
TWU offers its members professional advice, support in disputes, a solicitor's service and assistance with a variety of problems. Regular contact is maintained with the Arts Council of Great Britain as well as the Regional Arts Board.
TWU also offers a wide variety of activities comprising - surveys, working parties, workshops, forums on new writing, rehearsed readings etc. These activities are usually organised by our regional branches in London, the East Midlands, Manchester and Birmingham.
The union is run democratically with quarterly General Meetings acting as the decision-making body, and an elected delegated committee that deals with the day-to-day running of the Union. All members are entitled to attend.
