CyberFest in Cheltenham

The Other Space at the Everyman Theatre (Free)
10am-6pm

Sue Thomas and Helen Whitehead from the trAce Online Writing Community will be running the Festival Cyberfest. Free 30 minute workshops and free internet use and advice throughout the day. Events specifically for children/families are marked in red. Other events are aimed at adult readers and writers. All ages are welcome to use the room throughout the day.

Writing for the Internet

The literary potential of the Internet is only just beginning to be recognised - have you ever wondered how to get your work online? Helen Whitehead, who is Website Editor and Trainer for the trAce Online Writing Community at Nottingham Trent University, leads a fascinating and practical workshop on the challenges and rewards of wired words.

To launch a project in which Helen Whitehead will be working with pupils from primary schools to create computer games based on myths and legends, we introduce some of the interactive .

Find out about it all and try out some games at 1 pm on Saturday 13th October in the Cyberfest Room (The Other Space at the Everyman Theatre). The games can be played in the Cyberfest Room throughout the two weekends of the Festival (10 am - 6 pm)

Silver Surfers

Silver Surfers site

This project, led by Margaret Penfold, is designed to encourage older people to use the Internet as a tool in reminiscence work. The results will be displayed in the Cyberfest Room, and will be launched at 12 pm on Saturday 21st October 00.

The Silver Surfers project is supported by an award from the BT Reading Challenge.
