
Michèle
Roberts was born in England and is half French and half English. She
is the author of ten novels and three collections of poetry, as well
as short stories and one of essays.
Her
latest novel is Fair Exchange (Little, Brown, May 2000), about
women's experiences during the French Revolution. Her novel Daughters
of the House was shortlisted for the 1992 Book Prize and won the
W H Smith Literary Award in 1993. She lives in England and in France.
