You have to be able to see all the ways, and to see the patterns. He, the archangel, likes to think of me looking out windows, likes to imagine the girl child he didn't know gazing out while nuns berated her to pay attention. Despite (or because of) his novelist ways, it's true enough. I do tend to stare out windows. Everything a painting, I suppose, or the page of a book. Nicely framed, there for my entertainment. But I'm easily entertained, so have no hesitation in saying that paintings, books, and windows are more than a passing parade. They are the passage to and away.
