In her book titled Writing a Woman's Life, Carolyn Heilbrun quotes E.M. Forster on the subject of Truth. Forster, in answering a suggestion that Truth can be found halfway between two extremes, said:
No; truth, being alive, was not halfway between anything.
It was only to be found by continuous excursions into either
realm, and though good proportion is the final secret, to
espouse it at the outset is to ensure sterility.
Forster's idea is very similar to the one proposed by Deleuze and Guattari of complex mixtures that move and change constantly between two extremes. It seems that Truth is more a verb than a noun, and must be understood "on the fly," or in turning.
