The story says that just after he was born, Huitzilopochtli commanded Tochan calqui to light the xiuhcoatl, the blue fire serpent.

Then Huitzilopochtli cut off the head of Coyolxauhqui, and it came to rest "at the edge of Coatepetl." Her body, it is said, fell down the mountain, breaking in pieces, and her arms, legs, and body came to rest in different places.
