    I couldn't sleep that night. I pushed my head into the pillow, but I could still see the glow. The blinds at the window could not keep out the light.

    The light came from the moon, which was nearly full. Without looking, I knew that the moon would be pale and lopsided. It would be liquid around the rim, and melting into the sky like an ice cube. Such a weak, watery moon couldn't hurt. Next
