How to read this site

Each page (or end-page if it is a multi-page section) has a link to:

Web The homepage page of the project
Warp the actual words of the textile workers and artists whose stories inspired the website (or the results of research)
Weft my response to the stories and research
Pleat a random jump to one of the other pages

An index or map of the site is also available: Site map

Plug-ins required

Javascript is used extensively, and Java features on the homepage and in Breaking the Rectangle.

The Luddites' voices are in Real Audio format so you will need Real Player or equivalent to listen.

I have tried to keep pages as fast loading as possible, but I hope you will find it worthwhile to wait for the larger graphic files to download.
