Woman by Cherry Natural

If I advocate for my rights as a woman
am not betraying my man
I have needs to be free, I need to be me
I have a brain that’s ticking, ticking
Sending messages of consciousness for my generations’
generation to emulate
Yes am woman, I don’t have to be weak and fragile
to be desirable
Why treat me with contempt and hostility
because I think for myself
I am not your enemy, I speak from my own mind,
make my own decisions
And I am willing to learn from my mistakes
I have the power within to be what I want to be
I don’t have to be your clone to prove to the world
that I am in love with you
I don’t have to be your doormat
I don’t have to be your slave
I don’t have to be weak for you to be strong
Life cannot be without me my brother
You are holding back yourself by standing in my way
I can only do so much and when the feeling is not right
I will be gone, and you know what?
I will be taking me with me
‘Cause am woman. I belong!
