Currently staying in Leicester as a member of The Island Voices, a group of four writers-in-residence at Loughhborough and De Montford Universities. The other members of the group are Adrian Kenny from Ireland, Cherry Natural from Jamaica and Sara Maitland from the English Midlands.

Author of several plays and four collections of poetry.
A DIFFERENT SILENCE, a bilingual selected poems
is forthcoming from Gordon and Breach, London, England.

Plays include
THE TURTLE GETS THERE TOO (1984)
ELIN HELENA (1993)
FISH OUT OF WATER (1993)
And a trilogy in progress, the first two parts of which are:
HEAVEN - A Schizophrenic Comedy (1995)
FOR EVER - A Disjointed Cinematic Satire (1997)

HEAVEN is translated into ten languages and performed widely in Europe.

While over here, in between talks, readings, workshops and whatnots, I'm hoping to finish the third play in the trilogy, which is commissioned by The National Theatre of Iceland. It's tentatively entitled THE MAN WITH THE LAWN-MOWER - A Bleak Albeit Fairly Optimistic Tragi-Comedy. Initially I was going to call it AMEN, but for fear of never writing anything again I decided against that.

NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE is doing a staged reading of one of my plays in November.
