P L A C E Living in RuddingtonLiving in Ruddington offers the opportunity to live within an individual village that is self-sufficient, but only 30 minutes from the centre of Nottingham. The facilities that exist of shops, library, banks, post office, chemist, schools, dentist, doctor, museums and country park to allow this self-sufficiency do not give a measure of the village atmosphere, community groups and activities available for those who wish to participate and feel they belong to a community that supports its members. by Joyce Ellison, Village Museum Volunteer We’ve lived in Ruddington just over 10 years, and to us it’s very much still an old village, with lots of things to see and do. The museums are very well presented and looked after. Many enthusiastic people help to make them enjoyable for all ages. There are several old village shops to provide essential foods and a good bus service to Nottingham for everything else. Older villagers think that Ruddington has changed and grown too much, but we’re very happy with it, and think ourselves lucky to live in such an interesting place. by Mr & Mrs K. Mills, aged 70+
