![]() P E O P L E Hello my name is Liam Sharpe, I am 10 3/4 years old. We moved to Ruddington from Clifton on 2 May 1995 this was my mum and dad's wedding anniversary. We have lived in two houses, the one we live in now is near to the Heritage Centre. I go every week to the "Heritage". I know everyone there. I am a member, I have an annual membership. At the Heritage there are lots of great things. My favourite is the miniature railway that you can ride on. I drive the engine because my friend lets me from time to time, as well as putting them away. I am allowed to spend all day at the Centre because it is so close to where I live, and it is enclosed and very safe. I know the names of all the vbolunteers who work there and they all know me! If I get hungry I go to the cafe and get something to eat. It doesn't even matter if it rains because I can go on to the steam train or into the bus museum. But I always go into the train garage. When it is nice and sunny it is fun to ride on the bus with no roof; the bus goes either round the village or down the motorway and up a country lane. This is why I like Ruddington so much. And better still, the man who lives over the road from me is a famous cricket player. His name is Richard Bates; tooday he gave me a signed photograph of himself. So I would not like to live anywhere else. | ||
