The Gallery houses a huge range of creative work produced at trAce and dating from 1997 to the present day. Some of the links relate to 100% online work, and others connect to records of live events. There are many pages here - bookmark your favourites.

trAce supports a number of online projects and collaborations between writers, readers, artists and programmers. Much of this activity occurs inside the online community. Some projects are time-limited, and some ongoing. We also hold live conferences and events, of which the biggest is our series of Incubation conferences, the next to be held from 12 -14 July 2004. Creative projects may be exclusive to trAce or run as part of a Festival, larger project or writing class. You are welcome to take part by adding your writing to one of our current collaborative projects.

Keynote Projects
Keynote Projects include trAce projects such as - Assemblage, the Women's New Media Gallery maintained by Carolyn Guertin of Canada; frAme, our Journal of Culture and Technology, which appears approximately twice a year; Kids' Castle, our children's writing project created by Mark Burgess and Philip Ardagh; Lost, a project initiated by writer-in-residence Alan Sondheim; The Noon Quilt which, although first a website created by Sue Thomas and Teri Hoskin with contributions from all over the world, was then also published as a book; and The Eclipse Quilt, a development of the same idea. More recent projects include: Migrating Memories, presenting memories from migrants in the UK, Finland and Sweden;Web Warp & Weft, a Year of the Artist project looking at the similarities between the making of textiles and the making of the Web; and the New Media Writing Competition. Also the collaborative interactive Drama performed at Incubation: M is for Nottingham? built for the trAce conference by M D Coverley

Writers' Studios
Writers' studios are awarded to individual writers, or collaborative groups, in order to support and promote the development of web-based writing. The Studio is a virtual one, comprising webspace for private experimental or public work, with a trAce web address, and technical support. Writer's Studios are normally awarded by invitation only, but there will also be opportunities to apply for space.

Writers' Attachments
Thanks to the UK Lottery funding from the Arts Council, the trAce Online Writing Centre was able to offer a limited number of attachments for literary practitioners, both in person at the trAce offices, or online.
We are sorry that we are no longer able to offer these attachments for free.
Writers previously working on attachment with trAce have learned new skills and become confident online writers. To read about their experiences visit Writers' Journals.

Main Collection
We invite you to browse our main collection, featuring projects dating back to 1997. All were initiated by trAce and trAce members, often in partnership with other individuals and organisations in various parts of the world.
