In the grand tradition of
author photographs, Keith Brooke looks nothing
like he did when this picture was taken (fifteen years ago). The seventeen year-old Keith
had no idea that, after graduating in environmental sciences, he would take a year out to
write. He didn't know that he'd sell his first novel and that his 'year out' would last
more than 90 months. By late 1998 he's sold three novels, a collaborative collection Parallax
View, with Eric Brown (due out May 1999), over 40 short stories and a range of
non-fiction (about writing, genre fiction and the Internet).
For fun, Keith runs infinity plus, a
WWW archive of science fiction, fantasy and horror, featuring the work of more than 50 top
authors. In September 1998 he became Web Officer at the University of Essex.
