digital labor

The curriculum with which we teach technology is only part of the equation.  If students are to approach their work with any sophistication and savvy, they must leave classrooms with a critical consciousness of its labor issues.  The practice of critical reading, writing, and thinking around issues of digital labor offers us a pedagogical means of being vocationally responsible.  Careful study of scholars' research on digital labor and its attendant working conditions should help us revamp our approach to teaching in a digital culture.
