The curriculum with which we teach technology is only part of the equation. If students are to approach their work with any sophistication and savvy, they must leave classrooms with a critical consciousness of its labor issues. The practice of critical reading, writing, and thinking around issues of digital labor offers us a pedagogical means of being vocationally responsible. Careful study of scholars' research on digital labor and its attendant working conditions should help us revamp our approach to teaching in a digital culture. |
