The trAce Archive
Launch planned for early 2005
trAce has been on the web since 1995 and the site features over 5,000 pages of content, including numerous works at the cutting edge of new media. As part of Writers for the Future, the trAce Archive Project aims to provide a searchable database enabling easy online access to this extensive repository of new media writing and other resources. When the archive is completed, you will be able to explore the hidden depths and history(ies) of trAce, both old and modern.
The trAce Archive is funded by NESTA as part of the Writers for the Future, a ground-breaking research project exploring innovative ways of writing using the internet and providing criteria for best practice in the emerging genre of new media writing. We are also grateful to the following organisations for their help and advice:
The CACHe Project, School of History of Art, Film and Visual Media at Birkbeck, University of London
The Department of Information Science, University of Loughborough
The Department of Libraries and Learning Resources, Nottingham Trent University
