The Cinematic (big) screen is a reflector, communicator of social myth, a portrayer of values. Cinema happens in public. We sit in a crowded theatre, assembled to form a collective oculus - an eye large enough to eat our myth.

At home we sit around the TV, a surrogate hearth radiating its bluish flame (it's not as cool as it used to be)... TV plays a more familial role in our lives than does cinema, we attach ourselves to it daily, warm ourselves by it, nurse from it.
