„Le miget“ is a cold starter for the dinner during the summertime
where it replaces the soup.
„Le miget“ is a typical and traditional recipe of the small farmers
from this part of France.
It could be discribe as a refreshing cold soup made with
bread, water and red wine. It is so familiar and coming
from the countryside that you‘ll never see that recipe in a restaurant.
The wine used by the farmers was very often their own production :
the region produces wine, but not of high quality (but this is the province
where „Cognac“ is produced). All toghether : something very french !

Ingredients :
Bread (it can be stale bread)
Water
Red wine
Sugar

Preparation for 1 person :
Full a soup dish with bread.
Add some sugar (about 2 or 3 teaspoon or lumps)
Sprinkle the bread with wine (one third) and water (two third).
Mix shortly the ingredients.
Put the preparation 30 minutes in a fridge and serve !
(Another solution is to use cold water coming from the fridge, mix a little bit
longer the ingredients and eat immediatly)
