Featherbed

I am lying in a featherbed tucked aboard a small, sturdy boat. The boat is exactly big enough for the bed and me. We are drifting on a strong tide out into the Pacific. The sun has just slipped away and the sky is daubed with crimson, primrose, and gold. The seas are perfectly calm, the wind whispers. The boat pitches in time to the rhythm of my heart. High, high up in the sky, a lone planet shines.
I feel the land falling away. My eyes are open and my mind is as still as the world. There is nothing in Creation that I would change. The world turns under the moon, the tide flows out from the land, gathering me into the bosom of Immensity.
I have this vision several times a week.
