The cable channel VH-1 invites the recently resurrected McLuhan to attend a concert by the Grateful Dead.
McLuhan slips out after 18 minutes of a Jerry Garcia solo and absconds to a downtown gin mill, where reporters find him chatting up a couple of professional ladies.
"Sorry," the famous media messenger confesses. "I was never much for modern jazz."
Several drinks later McLuhan catches a taxi to the airport, disappointing the ladies. A cocktail napkin is found with doodles of naked breasts and the comment, "Okay so the sixties are dead."
