Links in the excerpt
The fourteen pages quoted as an example from the Sprawling Places hypertext have an average of two links per page. However, most pages in that large hypertext contain three to five links, and a few contain many more.
In the excerpted region I was trying to cause collisions among abruptly differing styles and statements, so I did not want any page to become central in the link pattern. For instance, even though one of the pages is much longer than any of the others, it has only two in-links and one out-link.
